Murtala
20-year-old Murtala’s story is nothing short of inspirational. As the 8th child of 16 children, Murtala said life, especially education, has always been hard. But things became worse following the deaths of his dad in 2020 and his mom in 2023. Finances were already extremely tight, but nothing prepared him for the emotional trauma these events would trigger. Through all these, Murtala interest in furthering his education didn’t dwindle, he soon realized that if he would like to go to school, he would have to find a way to fund himself and soon, he started working as a cleaner in various offices and schools during the weekends. Murtala is eternally grateful to the foundation for being so generous and likens this scholarship as heavy load being taken off his head, and he can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
